The company is looking for a CNC Shop Supervisor to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma (credible)
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas: welding, metal fabrication, or machining, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Address and resolve production or personnel issues promptly to avoid disruptions to operations.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees, as well as provide ongoing education and skill development for the team.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure smooth manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.
- Ensure the team maintains machines and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner, addressing safety concerns promptly.
- Expedite and prioritize shop orders through the department to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with time-keeping and performance management procedures.
- Oversee employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team development and productivity.
- Set up the full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe machines for tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeding, and live tooling. (Hyundai, Mori, Yugi, HAAS)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to maintain a consistent and active presence on the shop floor, spending approximately 2/3 of the shift overseeing operations.
- Able to adjust to changing priorities and unexpected challenges while maintaining productivity and focus.
- Average math skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and complete logs, documents, and reports accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members to achieve individual and collective goals.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work well with others and foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with shop employees, office staff, supervisors, managers, and executives.
- Highly detail-oriented, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks and responsibilities.
- Proficiency in performance management processes, including creating plans of action and conducting employee evaluations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the shift.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, with a demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety standards and practices.
