Job Profile
The company is providing Co-Op Program (Co-op Engineer) to current college students with meaningful assignments, leadership training, valuable exposure to our company’s senior leaders, and opportunities to network.
Co-Op is offered to candidates working towards their Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or General Engineering field and will operate full-time from May to December as we work with your University towards Academic Credit for your work.
Note: The company’s goal is to uplift talent and provide options for career paths after graduation.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a BS/BA in an Applied Physics or an Engineering-major with a cumulative overall GPA at or above 3.0 throughout the duration of the program (college/university)
Work Experience
- Possess work-related work experience (preferred not required)
Duties/Responsibilities
Co-Op Product Engineer-
- Analyze an industry standard or code required to sustain products
- Cultivate untapped value for our products by analyzing customer data
- Improve manufacturability of products
- Lead cross-functional team to complete quality improvements/initiatives
- Lead test projects in the Product Development Laboratory
- Research new opportunities to broaden the customer base
Co-Op Manufacturing Engineer-
- Analyze production times and develop job breakdown sheets
- Assist with new capital equipment purchases, involving business case support and equipment research
- Implement manufacturing process improvement: metal forming/fabrication, CNC machining operations, mechanical assembly, welding robotics, flame/induction brazing, etc.
- Support product performance testing
Co-Op Quality Engineer-
- Ad-hoc projects based on skill level, degree, or general interest
- Analyzing processes, documentation, and production for quality improvement
- Partnering with Internal Audit for process improvement and documenting quality procedures
- Quality system development for new products and existing products
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Collaborate with others to foster effective teamwork by linking your own responsibilities to the team’s goals and needs
- Completed coursework focusing on Thermodynamics and Mechanical Design
- Demonstrated leadership: campus organizations, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc., or exceptional leadership on work projects
- Establish courses of action for self and others to ensure work is completed efficiently; ability to prioritize tasks based on importance
- Must be available to work Full-time for 6-8 consecutive months (May-December)
- Rapidly resolve problems to maximize customer satisfaction
- Zeal for new information, knowledge, and experiences
- U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
