Job Profile

The company is hiring a Die Plate Designer who will provide the highest quality design and technical support for the Maag family of equipment to include die plates and die plate-related items.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Mechanical design experience
  • Experienced in the use of SolidWorks

License/Certification

  • Any certifications in the use of mechanical design (SolidWorks highly preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains CAD models, detail drawings, bills of material, and shop information packets for machine shop production.
  • Determines what items need to be ordered.
  • Helps the Sales Department and Customer Service Department with questions and requests from customers globally.
  • Independently reviews specifications for the project.
  • Leads technical discussions regarding design issues or proposed changes.
  • Meets tight design deadlines and works OT when required
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts such as Kaizen events and problem-solving.
  • Provides support to CNC Programmers and the Machine Shop.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work Environment

  • Work in this position is onsite in an office and a factory floor environment.
  • Remote work is not available due to working closely with the machine shop.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and PPE may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
