Job Profile

The company is hiring an Equipment Operator/Utility Person who will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and maintenance of the plant.

Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including cutting and welding, in a quarry environment.

The primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently perform maintenance or repairs on all plant and mobile equipment.

Maintain computerized maintenance and repair records.

Use a skid steer, front-end loader, and water truck to clean around plant equipment and to maintain roadways and parking areas.

Additionally, operate a water truck to limit airborne dust, and participate in safety inspections and plant safety programs.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum 1 year of experience in Operating Equipment
• Experience welding or performing maintenance tasks (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Diagnose and assist in trouble-shooting when the process is interrupted
• Maintain consistent and efficient operation of the plant
• Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
• Perform daily inspections of the vehicle and work area
• Perform preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections as needed
• Perform repairs and routine maintenance on plant and mobile equipment
• Responsible for operating a variety of equipment utilized in dredge mining
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Bi-lingual (a plus)

Working Conditions

• Requires operating with larger equipment which is typically air-conditioned.
• Regularly requires long hours and weekend work
• There will be times when outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet, or dry.
• May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
