Job Profile

The company is seeking a Fabricator who will be part of our Fabrication team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• Previous fabrication or light industrial experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Abide by all SBD policies and procedures
• Appropriate use of PPE, such as arm guards, face shields, and Kevlar aprons (while grinding)
• Complete assigned production activities according to ISO work instructions
• Complete fabrication production activities, including:
• Conduct visual inspections of both in-process and finished welded products
• Follow all SBD safety rules and regulations
• Follow practices that meet quality standards as they pertain to fabrication operations
• Hang line (hanging and inspecting parts)
• Identify concerns and provide insight for continuous improvement opportunities
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to meet 6S standards (e.g., cleaning, mopping)
• Report any safety or quality issues to the appropriate personnel
• Safely operate any necessary equipment, including weld cells
• Set up of workstations as needed
• Other related production duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designee

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to interact with other associates throughout the facility
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including ISO work instructions
• Ability to walk, stand, and periodically lift up to 40 lbs. for a minimum of eight hours daily
• Able to operate in a fast-paced work environment
• Able to work overtime as needed
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Manual dexterity: ability to use hand tools and other equipment as needed
• Willingness to learn the facility safety rules and regulations

Work Environment

• Exposure to noise, heat, and dust
• Handles metal, tools, and heavy machinery
• Must follow strict safety procedures
• Often stands for long periods
• Works in workshops, factories, or construction sites
