Job Profile

The company is seeking a Field Service Technician who will perform service work in-house and at customer sites under the required instruction/supervision according to the quality procedures or customer specifications work order.

Educational Qualification

• High School Diploma (required)

Work Experience

• 1-year shop or related job/vocational experience
• Experienced at repairing or servicing electrical or mechanical apparatus
• Experience with computer applications and SAGE is desirable

Duties/Responsibilities

• Advocate and follow all quality, safety, and environmental procedures and report all noncompliance.
• Ensure that all tasks are performed utilizing all necessary procedures, work instructions, safety procedures, and equipment.
• Keep work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical applications.
• Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone, or personal contact with customers, outside vendors, or service providers, etc.
• Promote continuous improvement (i.e., employee suggestions, procedural enhancement, etc.).
• Provide guidance to new shop-service technicians that are unfamiliar with the work process.
• Provide support for any special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager. These special projects, at the determination of management, may or may not become part of your primary responsibilities.
• Train in additional areas in which not yet fully qualified under the instruction of a Manager or Supervisor.
• Travel to complete work at customer site, as required.
• Work overtime and weekends, when necessary, to meet the demand of the customer or the company workload.
• Perform in one or more of the following areas-
  -AC/DC Drives
  -Breaker Service and Repair
  -Compressor Service and Repair
  -Control Troubleshooting and Installation
  -Electrical Maintenance of DC Motors
  -Field Testing
  -Mechanical Maintenance of AC Motors
  -Mechanical Repair (Turbine, Gearbox, Pump)
  -Overhead Crane Inspections and Maintenance
  -Predictive Maintenance (Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Oil Analysis)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able to work overtime and weekends, as needed, to meet company and customer demands.
• Customer satisfaction
• Meeting or exceeding customer demand/delivery
• Production efficiencies; i.e., low rework, warranty costs work completed underestimated hours
• Team skills are also desirable, as some development and ongoing projects involve teams of individuals from different backgrounds within the organization.
