Job Profile
The company is hiring a Field Service Technician who will repair various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment in the field.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants may be required a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in rotating apparatus field repair (AC or DC electric motors, pumps, blowers, etc.)
- Some experience in an electric motor/job shop environment would be greatly beneficial.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report all unsafe activity.
- Disassemble, inspect and reassemble various types of rotating equipment, such as pumps, centrifugal, submersible, vertical, turbine, gear reducers, electric motors, and blowers.
- Drive and operate a utility body service crane truck.
- Fill out service reports.
- Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of control and pumping systems.
- Operate lifting equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
- Operate vehicles in a safe manner and use field automation systems
- Perform on-site turn-key services on our customer sites.
- Provide field service for removal and installation of pumps and electric motors.
- Set tolerances for bearing fit and clearances, motor connections, and testing.
- Will perform vibration analysis, laser alignment, and on-site balancing.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- 50% travel
- Candidate must be available for on-call and overtime work
- Local only within 150 miles
- Rarely overnight stay
- Skills required include troubleshooting problems, electrical theory, mechanical theory, and understanding of vibration analysis and alignment
- Valid DL (CDL preferred but not required)
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
- Must frequently lift or move up to 300 pounds with mechanical assistant.
- Occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

- Electrical integration experience with transformers
- Experience with NEC (National Electric Code), understands wire size, conduit runs, and electrical load.
- Proficient reading of blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Pulling wire, wire circuits, 4-way switches
- Required to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Works with 208 and 480 electrical panels
