Job Profile

The company is hiring a Field Service Technician who will support the repair and maintenance of pumps, valves, and related systems, primarily aboard U.S. Navy vessels.

Ensure that specifications are followed and the highest quality standards are maintained when repairing products.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s Degree, vocational or technical training (preferred)

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a repair environment, preferably in a shipyard

License/Certification

  • US Citizen
  • Valid Driver’s License

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, paint, and inspect equipment using special tooling, measuring devices, and visual inspection procedures
  • Assist in reviewing parts inventory
  • Assist in the rigging of equipment throughout the ship and maintain safety certifications for related equipment
  • Assist in the repairs of components primarily located on U.S. Naval vessels.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and test pumps and valves per customer requirements to ensure repair work meets specifications
  • Install, align, and op-test repaired equipment
  • Remove and replace various model pumps and valves that are shipboard.
  • Troubleshoot problems to determine the root cause.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a team environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and repair work on pumps and valves
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. and navigate throughout a ship
  • Prior experience using hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications

  • Exposure to varying weather and hazards
  • Travel to client sites (10%)
  • Hands-on technical problem solving
  • Indoor and outdoor work environments
  • Irregular hours, on-call duties
