The company is seeking a Fitter to join its team.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants may require a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• MIG welding experience, basic weld symbol knowledge, and CWB tickets (required)
• Overhead crane and rigging experience (required)
• Prior experience fitting complex fabrications (an asset)
• Saw and hand torch experience (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assemble material by tack welding parts to fit correctly.
• Layout parts and subassemblies by reading measurements. Tack weld plate/structural steel.
• Maintaining a clean work area and helping in welding or other areas when needed.
• Operate material handling equipment (lift truck or overhead crane)
• Possess technical knowledge of welding procedures, welding materials, and welding equipment by applying past experience including the use of fixtures/jigs, learning company welding standards, and on-the-job training.
• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and material lists and gathering materials and tools.
• Resolve assembly problems by notifying the supervisor to obtain additional resources and information
• Straightening fabrications (press/heat)
• Verify specifications by measuring the completed assembly.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Blueprint reading skills (required)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (required)
