Job Profile
The company is seeking a Fitter to join its team.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants may require a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- MIG welding experience, basic weld symbol knowledge, and CWB tickets (required)
- Overhead crane and rigging experience (required)
- Prior experience fitting complex fabrications (an asset)
- Saw and hand torch experience (required)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assemble material by tack welding parts to fit correctly.
- Layout parts and subassemblies by reading measurements. Tack weld plate/structural steel.
- Maintaining a clean work area and helping in welding or other areas when needed.
- Operate material handling equipment (lift truck or overhead crane)
- Possess technical knowledge of welding procedures, welding materials, and welding equipment by applying past experience including the use of fixtures/jigs, learning company welding standards, and on-the-job training.
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and material lists and gathering materials and tools.
- Resolve assembly problems by notifying the supervisor to obtain additional resources and information
- Straightening fabrications (press/heat)
- Verify specifications by measuring the completed assembly.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Blueprint reading skills (required)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (required)
