Job Profile

The company is seeking a Fitter Helper who will assist Fitters and Welders in fitting and welding tasks such as positioning and aligning structural metal components in the fabrication of steel structures.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma (preferred)

Work Experience

• Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Clean the work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
• Manually move, lift, and transfer material and safely operate overhead cranes
• May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation
• May perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of journeyman’s tools and equipment
• Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, oxy-fuel torches, and other basic equipment and hand tools
• Perform other routine duties as directed by an experienced craft person

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Follow specific directions
• Perform a variety of duties which may often change
• Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards
• Work within standards of accuracy

Work Environment

• Have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
• Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read the application/form information.
• Frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
