Job Profile
The company is hiring a Flexible/Fixed Robotic Field Service Technician who will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while troubleshooting robotic/collaborative welding systems and training/application assistance during robotic/collaborative welding system installs.
Miller is introducing a new best-in-class collaborative welding system and this Technician will play a vital role in supporting a successful role out.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or Equivalent (college/university)
Work Experience
- Possess an experience in service, troubleshooting, or “Break/Fix” situations
Duties/Responsibilities
- 40-70% travel could be required
- Communicate via phone and online platforms to troubleshoot remotely with collaborative robot customers
- Creating service reports, tracking trends, and incorporating improvements with software updates (provided by the Engineering department)
- Provide training as needed for startup and troubleshooting
- Repair and testing of robotic welding equipment in the field
- Support the marketing and training teams with content development (e.g. troubleshooting or “How-To” videos) to improve customer experience
- Travel to customer locations for technical support, repairs, and installations of robotic welding systems
- Utilization of good oral and written communication skills to work professionally with customers within the guidelines of Miller Welding Automation
- Candidates will be required to live in the Chicago Metropolitan region.
- This job requires the individual to work and solve problems with little or no immediate supervision
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must be willing to travel when necessary; at times this could be short notice
- Good communication and listening skills are extremely important
- Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet programs
- Must be a self-starter, aggressive, and a good team player and possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion
- Strength in customer service with demonstrated troubleshooting skills required
- Welding systems product knowledge is a plus
