Job Profile

The company is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator who will be responsible for operating mobile equipment, mechanical work, and other duties assigned by the plant operator/manager associated with the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery used in the production of hot mix asphalt.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess heavy equipment operations or military experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, and maintain plant and associated production equipment
• Manage multiple tasks and prioritize production needs
• Operate and maintain mobile equipment including skid steer, front-end loader, pit truck, water truck, etc.
• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Train others as needed
• Work in a team environment

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Previous mobile construction equipment operating experience desired
• Welding experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, and ladders, and work at heights up to 80+ feet; work in confined spaces; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
• Must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds
