Job Profile

The company is searching for an HVAC Technician who will perform various construction and installation tasks on continuous improvement and repair/maintenance projects as assigned by your leadership team – Facilities Engineering and Maintenance, or their designate.

Work closely with various Product Divisions, Support Organizations, contractors, consultants, and other Facilities personnel. The tasks include measuring, working from ladders, dismantling equipment, reading and interpreting drawings, disconnecting and reconnecting equipment, cutting, bending, installing/dismantling of new and existing piping systems, threading and assembling of piping, properly terminating of piping valves and accessories, troubleshooting and repair of facilities/process equipment, anchoring of equipment and accessories to concrete floors and walls, some rigging and movement of equipment both manually and with the use of a forklift.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience as an industrial technician with a foundation in HVAC equipment.
  • Experienced in Soldering (soft solder, brazing, and silver soldering).

License/Certification

  • EPA Certificate (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assisting other Facilities personnel with engineering improvement, construction tasks, and daily work requests.
  • Exercising some judgment with making decisions on assigned projects or tasks.
  • Fabrication, installation, and detailed assembly work as required, and production rearrangements.
  • Handle the inspection, repair, installation, modification, and maintenance of HVAC, HV, AC, etc., equipment.
  • Reading layouts, diagrams, project commissioning documents, and material lists with the ability to complete related assigned tasks.
  • Use appropriate welding gases to produce quality welds and set up fixtures for a variety of welding assignments (Soft solder, brazing, silver solder, etc.).

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, or schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems related to facility equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand/Power tools.
  • Proficiency with refrigeration theory and the use of refrigerant gauges.

Work Environment

  • Bending Frequent bending is required to perform job tasks.
  • Occasional carrying of equipment components or tools weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Handling Continuous handling of small hand tools, power tools, and equipment
  • Lifting Frequent lifting of components ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Pulling: Occasional use of a hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
  • Pushing the Occasional use of a hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
  • Frequent reaching to install and remove parts or assemblies from equipment.
  • Standing, remaining in an upright position 75% of the time with intermittent walking and sitting.
  • Walking, frequent walking, and short distances from job to job throughout the plant.
