Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a Journeyperson Red Seal Welding Certificate
• CWB Certification

Work Experience

• Areal Work Platform (an asset)
• B Pressure, or willingness to obtain
• CSO, or willingness to obtain
• CSTS, or willingness to obtain
• H2S (an asset)
• Fall Arrest (an asset)
• Forklift, Zoom boom, Skid Steer, JLG experience (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Clean, check for defects, and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch
• May operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
• Use different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape, and requirements for finished product strength weld parts together. Including using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using processes such as gas tungsten arc (TIG or GTAW), gas metal arc (MIG or GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), oxy-acetylene (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
• Working in both the machine shop and the field and able to work in any weather condition

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and willingness to complete labour work
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
