Educational Qualification
- No education level is mentioned, yet having a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- Possess at least 3 years of Manufacturing experience
- At least 2 years of CNC laser operating experience in a production environment
- Prior CNC experience operating lasers (CO2 and Fiber Lasers) in a Production environment preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Assist gases as necessary to meet production requirements.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Plans machining by studying work orders, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
- Programs machining centers by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers and offsets.
- Use banding and bundling equipment on a laser machine.
- Utilize proprietary order software to optimize part yield and bar utilization.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A laser operator training class will be provided by Woodsage.
- A work history of compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record.
- Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment.
- Detail-oriented approach to daily work activities
- Must be able to perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, utilize hand tools and have basic mechanical abilities.
- Must be able to set up a machine to produce parts to a part print and layout. This involves changing collets, cutting tools, and making adjustments to machines and tools.
- Must have a positive attitude and ability to take complete ownership of the area.
- Must have the skill to read prints, decipher tolerances, and proven capability with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, vision systems, etc.
