Job Profile
The company is searching for a Machine Operator I who will be responsible for fabricating products using proper tools and machines.
Operate or use related machinery, equipment, and tools necessary to complete assembly/parts fabrication to specifications, which include hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), drills, presses, punches, saws, bending machines, tape measures, hand tools, etc. Note: Excludes CNC equipment program set-up and operation
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- 1-2 years of production machine operator experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes.
- Diagnose process and quality issues and make improvement recommendations to the department supervisor.
- Ensure safe, careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Fabricate assemblies/parts for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
- Participate in and attend cross-functional meetings as required.
- Participate in a cross-training program – train and be trained
- Reject defective parts and materials following the policy.
- Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
- Review finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs.
- Set up and lay out work using fixtures and guides to fabricate parts and assemblies.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals
- Ability to read and understand all job specifications
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods
- Basic math skills
- Basic PC skills
- Basic reading/writing skills
- Good communication skills
- Team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
- Understanding of 6S
Work Environment
- May involve shift work, including nights and weekends
- Often exposed to noise, machinery, and moving parts
- Requires wearing safety gear (gloves, goggles, etc.)
- Standing for extended periods and physical labor are involved
- Works in a manufacturing or production environment
