Job Profile
The company is hiring a Machine Repair Mechanic who will maintain and repair essential equipment, conduct preventive and predictive maintenance, and execute mechanical hardware upgrades.
Effectively communicate with customers, providing accurate and concise updates on repair progress, parts procurement, and estimated completion time.
Troubleshoot and replace faulty equipment, as well as assemble and rebuild a wide range of plant machinery, including Numerically Controlled (NC) machines, robotics and end effectors, modular assembly equipment, precision-built machines, material handling equipment, ground support equipment, stationary generator sets, and process equipment.
Education Level
- High School Graduate or GED (preferred)
Work Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a CNC machine repair mechanic, manufacturing building systems mechanic, or general equipment repair mechanic (IE Pump repairs, ship repairs, large farming equipment, or military equipment).
- Experience in testing and diagnosing hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical components, and test equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics, and diagrams.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to review and interpret work orders, tie-ins, technical manuals, machine operations, and communicate with production employees to determine appropriate craft skills and repairs needed to return machines to production readiness.
- Develop maintenance procedures when documentation is not available and devise and make tools to facilitate work.
- Obtain and analyze drawings, sketches, hydraulic schematics, and specifications needed to perform assigned work to perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections.
- Obtain job assignments from data systems, from management, or from engineers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions on all types of factory machinery, including Numerically Controlled (NC) and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine tools and controllers, gearboxes, stationary generator sets, and machine accessories using various types of test equipment.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work around electromagnetic fields because of various types of production equipment.
- Willing to work overtime based on business requirements.
Work Environment
- Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
- Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
- Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
- Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs. to 15-35 lbs.
- Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
- Willing to work at heights up to 125 feet above ground level and pass Fall Protection Training.
- Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
