Job Profile
The company is hiring a Machinist who will machine old and new details for dies, fixtures, and welders and to assist Tool and Die makers in the repair and maintenance of progressive, transfer, and hand-transfer stamping dies.
Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance, or Engineering department representative.
Educational Qualification
- No education level is mentioned, yet having a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist Tool and Die Makers in die repair and maintenance
- Assure safe operation and maintenance of Tool room equipment
- Cooperate with all local, state, and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
- Set up and operate basic Tool room equipment with little assistance
- Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Support all departments with machining needs
- Support and comply with all TS16949 and ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
- Work on blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to machine die and weld fixture details
- Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Ability to read tool and die designs and prints
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Basic and advanced math skills required (trigonometry)
- Excellent teamwork skills required
- Must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others’ safety
- Be mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and reliable
Tool Room Machinery
- CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, drill presses, saws; hand tools
- Precise measuring equipment
- Common office equipment (i.e., PC, copier, facsimile, etc.)
