The company is recruiting a Machinist to join its team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• 3-5 years of applicable work experience (required)
• Machinist trade school experience (helpful)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Build up, grind, and reweld shafts
• Continuously safely perform all required tasks, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
• Cut shafts.
• Draw blueprints and sketches of work.
• Follow all applicable food service policies and procedures.
• Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc., as required.
• Grind rubber rolls
• Handle dismantling and rebuilding work.
• Handle sheet metal work, such as making guards and ink pens.
• Keep equipment clean.
• Keep work area clean and organized, per standards.
• Make gears, figures, and ensure correct dimensions, using the gear shaper.
• Make parts needed, ensuring that specifications are correct.
• Make plate cylinders, ensuring they fit appropriately down to each detail.
• Meet/achieve job goals set forth by management.
• Make cylinders and ink pans, chaise threads, make complete parts, and determine correct specifications.
• Must take immediate action to correct or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
• Repair machine breakdowns as needed.
• Respond to radio calls as needed.
• Weld various items made of steel, cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel; braze or weld brass.
• Work on special projects as assigned.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to set up and run lathes and milling machines (Bridgeport).
• Skills will be dependent on proficiency level.
• Solid understanding of company machinery to handle job duties.

Work Environment

• Exposure to loud noises, metal shavings, and lubricants
• May work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
• Requires use of safety gear and attention to detail
• Stands for long periods and operates precision equipment
• Works in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
