Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess previous supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade School/Diploma – millwright or electrician programs
- Automation experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals.
- Assist with repair to machinery components.
- Ensure adherence to the organizational policy for promotions, filling new positions, upgrading existing positions, and processing the annual salary reviews.
- Ensure asset data is updated regularly.
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM) Programs are being implemented and followed.
- Help manage new hire onboarding and training.
- Identify and correct problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, etc. for the maintenance team.
- Make sure clear direction and scheduling is given to team members daily and that work is completed in a timely manner.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire/JCI safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
- Pricing and contract negotiation for optimal pricing and service.
- Provide hands-on assistance with maintenance team support as needed.
- Report to leadership on the overall status of programs and departmental objectives.
- Supervise a dynamic team to ensure all equipment is running and in good working condition. Equipment includes welding machines, turrets, press brakes, paint systems, automation equipment, lasers, water jets, etc.
- Work with key stakeholders to plan and execute new equipment designs, installation, and start-up services.
- Other duties as required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on urgency
- Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment)
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office like Teams, Outlook, and Excel
- Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
- Good organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Overtime and on-call hours (outside standard operation schedule) as required
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Willing to learn and work on a variety of metalworking machinery and other plant equipment
- Work is performed in an industrial environment but primarily outdoors in all weather conditions; may have combinations of walking, standing, or sitting throughout the day
