Job Profile
The company is searching for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications troubleshooting malfunctions.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Work Experience
- Possess at least 3 years of prior experience in a mechanical or electrical position
- Have working experience with 480V/3 phase industrial equipment and controls
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to adhere to safety equipment and standards
- Able to function well as a team member
- Be able to read and understand blueprints and CAD
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have a working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Have a working knowledge of PLC and computerized controlled automated systems equipment and functions
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to work under the direction of a maintenance leader, supervisor, or manager
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts if necessary
- Time management and strong organizational skills
- Self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication competencies
Physical Demands
- Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking
- May require lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
