Job Profile

The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will plan and perform work that requires thorough knowledge of mechanical principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation such as motors, conveyors, switches, control boards, generators, circuit breakers, electronic inspection units, etc.

Education Level

  • High School Graduate or GED (required)
  • Technical Degree preferred, but willing to count years of experience

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance/production environment
  • Electrical training/experience with 480 3-phase/machine controls (preferred)
  • Experience with VFD Drives and PLCs (a plus)
  • Previous work experience in mechanical, electrical, or experience in the blown film industries (strongly preferred)
  • Experience operating forklift equipment

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ask questions if not familiar with the repair or procedure.
  • Be a team player, assisting fellow mechanics or other employees requiring help.
  • Comply with all safe work procedures when performing tasks, such as but not limited to Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space.
  • Improve skill level either by training or on-the-job experience.
  • Maintain a “zero defect” attitude and perform repairs once.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping on the job site.
  • Repair machine defects found other than scheduled when discovered.
  • Report any machine defects identified during repairs that cannot be corrected to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Strive to perform work on time, reducing machine downtime to a minimum.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on bag machinery and support equipment as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Work required overtime to complete repairs of down equipment.

  • Air compressor maintenance
  • Building repair, general maintenance
  • An electrician’s skillset is a plus
  • Electro-pneumatic troubleshooting
  • Machine assembly and installation
  • Machine overhaul
  • Machinist
  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Part rebuilding
  • Pipefitter
  • Welding, brazing, and burning

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures (required)
  • Computer Skills
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Familiar with all OSHA and GMP standards and requirements
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • Work overtime as required.

Work Environment

  • Active, hands-on work in industrial settings
  • Frequent exposure to noise, grease, and machinery
  • May require climbing, lifting, or working in tight spaces
  • Must adhere to strict safety and maintenance standards
  • On-call or rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
