Job Profile

The company is hiring a Maintenance Technician who will repair, install, and replace electrical equipment and appliances.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Background in Robotics and or vacuum casting (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Build control panels.
  • Conducts tests to locate mechanical/electrical system malfunctions.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Installs conduit and runs wires through conduit.
  • Installs electrical components following electrical codes.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Maintains repair records.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Repair electrical equipment.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Run conduit and pull wiring
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Start devices to test their performance.
  • Test wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Uses machine tools in installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Utilizes braze-welding equipment as needed.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
  • Able to work weekends and be able to work any shift
  • Adheres to safety procedures
  • Maintains a clean and orderly maintenance shop.

Work Environment

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • Regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 90 pounds.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to extreme heat.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, high, precarious places, and the risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
