Job Profile
The company is hiring a Maintenance Technician who will repair, install, and replace electrical equipment and appliances.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- 3 to 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background in Robotics and or vacuum casting (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Build control panels.
- Conducts tests to locate mechanical/electrical system malfunctions.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Installs conduit and runs wires through conduit.
- Installs electrical components following electrical codes.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Maintains repair records.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Repair electrical equipment.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Run conduit and pull wiring
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Start devices to test their performance.
- Test wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
- Uses machine tools in installation, maintenance, or repair.
- Utilizes braze-welding equipment as needed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
- Able to work weekends and be able to work any shift
- Adheres to safety procedures
- Maintains a clean and orderly maintenance shop.
Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to talk or hear, and taste or smell.
- Regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 90 pounds.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to extreme heat.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, high, precarious places, and the risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
