Job Profile

The company is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician who will perform routine preventative maintenance on all plant equipment and some troubleshooting/repairs.

Be able to coordinate maintenance vendors to handle any facility breakdown.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should be Associates or Equivalent (required)

Work Experience

For North America/Latin America Applicants-

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Possess 2+ years of experience, preferably in-
    -Must have experience with the performance of LOTO and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities
    -Must have experience with the use of forklifts, aerial lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties and tasks in accordance with manufacturer and Stericycle procedures and with strict adherence to relative safety programs and standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, etc.
  • Performs diagnostic evaluation on equipment and makes repairs when needed and is willing to be on-call and respond to urgent repairs. Ensures that repairs are performed properly in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.
  • Assists Facility/Maintenance Manager by performing general work or other assignments necessary to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility and vigorously support Stericycle’s commitment to Safety.
  • Documents result through completed work orders or in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) based on schedule and priority or as required.
  • Light to heavy fabrication, demonstrating proficient welding (arc/electrode); acetylene torch; grinding cuttings skills.
  • Necessary to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility and vigorously support Stericycle’s commitment to Safety.
  • Performs light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment including 480V/ 240V/ 120V/ 24V power systems. PLC, light robotics troubleshooting, and 4 to 20 milliamp control loop systems.
  • Shares time to be on-call and ready to complete emergency or urgent repairs outside of normally scheduled shifts.
  • Stays current on all required safety training.
  • Performs routine, preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on a variety of machinery within the plant including but not limited to-
    -Incinerator process equipment/systems maintenance, including burners, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), high-temperature refractory, controls, Process Logic Controllers (PLC), combustion air blowers, pressure controls, and conveyance systems
    -Air pollution control devices, including bag houses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon beds
    -Fire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners and other water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems
    -General air pneumatics, including an air compressor, regulators, solenoid valves, 2-way, and 3-way valves, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and related systems
    -General plumbing including but not limited to hard piping, CPVC/PVC, copper, A-lock
    -Hydraulic systems, hosing, valves, cylinders
    -pH control and chemical injection
    -Steam turbine and electrical generator systems
    -Various Pumps and related components
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Capable of providing feedback and participating in continuous improvement initiatives (Cause Analysis, Proactive solutions, threat detection, etc.)
  • Capable of working collaboratively in teams and alone.
  • Demonstrates the ability to ask questions and gather information in order to identify problems and repair or arrange for repair of the machine.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently and resolve problems without direction
  • Demonstrates the ability to think critically and remain calm during stressful situations.
  • Possession of boiler, welding, or electrical certification or license is helpful.
