Job Profile

The company is seeking a Manual Weld Technician III who will turn design into reality, owning the build of Terran R’s primary structures.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

• 3+ years of performing GTAW welding
• 3+ years of aerospace fabrication/mechanical experience in the related field
• Clean room experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Collaborate with weld DEV team to perform GTAW weld processes which will include: manual and semi-automated welding, helping set up the production shop floor following 5S principles, completing GTAW weld ops on flight hardware, loading and unloading hardware with use of overhead cranes or forklifts, installing structural mechanical piece parts and tooling, performing dimensional fitment inspections, accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches, performing visual weld inspections, perform precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation
• Identify and resolve issues in the manufacturing process, which could include defects in materials, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies in production methods
• Ensure all operations are being run in accordance with Relativity Space standards
• A foster and inclusive environment for all members of the team

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to follow work order instructions and read part drawings.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Comfortable with measuring and cutting tools.

Work Environment

• Exposed to heat, sparks, and loud machinery
• May work in confined spaces or elevated areas
• Physical stamina is needed for standing, bending, and lifting
• Requires wearing protective gear (helmet, gloves, etc.)
• Works in industrial or manufacturing environments
