Job Profile

The company is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will provide process engineering support at a zirconium manufacturing facility for equipment, systems, products, and processes for use in the commercial nuclear power industry.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy from a college/university

Work Experience

  • Possess 0 to 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns. Prepare technical papers and make formal presentations to customers and regulators.
  • Analyze and make proposals for new business opportunities and implement strategic plans.
  • Analyze and recommend the utilization of technological innovations in material, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems.
  • Apply engineering analytical skills to identify causes of failures in systems and recommend resolutions.
  • Assume lead technical responsibility for the design and implementation of new or modified systems. This includes specification of new processes and equipment designs, as well as, overseeing and coordinating installation, fabrication, testing, and qualification of new equipment or processes. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assume lead technical responsibility for the development and administration of one or more major manufacturing programs, systems, or activities. This includes monitoring system performance, specification of new processes and designs as well as development, installation, and qualification of new products, processes, or equipment.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve yield, FTT, process safety, and productivity.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support equipment and process designs including Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS or other similar software tools.
  • Provide direct, day-to-day technical engineering support and leadership for manufacturing and chemical operations and maintenance.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically to drive improvements in the business or resolve customer or product issues and concerns.
  • Oral and written communication skills must be clear, concise, and convincing.
  • Presentation skills that are critical to influencing the desired outcomes.
  • Strong teamwork skills – including leadership and participation.
  • Working knowledge of ASME and industry codes.
