Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician who will provide primary millwright skills with secondary skills in pipefitting and welding for the West Point Mill.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Welding Technology or 4 years of relevant technical military experience.

Work Experience

• Possess 5 years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman welder level
• Have a Virginia Career Readiness Certificate (Bronze/Silver/Gold Level)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Participate in all department safety programs.
• Ability to measure, lay out, and fabricate repair parts.
• Ability to certify all positions for SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes used at the WestRock mill.
• Good working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and drawings.
• Good understanding of the types and applications of equipment lubrication.
• Ability to properly document repairs and inspections

• Computer skills adequate to look up the bill of materials, stores parts, enter work results, and complete work orders.
• Effective troubleshooting abilities.
• Flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contribute to accomplishing results in a team-based environment.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.
