Job Profile

The company is searching for a Mechanical Utility who will have general duties such as rack repair including but not limited to green tire racks, wing carts, tread trays, etc.

Will also have responsibilities such as fire watch, confined space watch, and assisting Millwrights with repairs such as conveyor belts, heavy items, line shaft, etc.

Mechanical Utility will have assigned work specific to individual departments as well as tasks that cover the entire plant.

Required tools will be welding helmet and support equipment, as well as general hand tools such as a small portable toolbox, gloves, wrench set, Allen wrench set (SAE and Metric), hammer, wire brush, etc. All other assignments or tasks are directed by management.

The position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a Welding Certificate or Testing Competency (MIG and Stick)

Work Experience

• Possess 2 years of industrial experience with tasks related to the position or VOAG school completion
• Cutting torch, cutoff tool, and band saw experience
• PIT operation experience

Duties/Responsibilities

Mill Room-

• Pneumatic cylinder rebuilds

Materials-

• Let off and wind up chuck rebuilds
• 5 Bias air chucks
• Super chucks

1st Stage-

• Turn down tips
• Bladders
• Bead fingers off the machine

2nd Stage-

• Belt pans
• Creel spool brake assemblies
• Snow let off brakes
• Steelastic cutter cylinder rebuilds

Curing-

• Painter chuck assemblies
• Painter dust collector filters and changes
• Pneumatic breech lock cylinders
• Steam head rebuilds
• Tube bending for instrument air

Finishing-

• Buffer painter arms
• Onmi roller tables
• Small pneumatic cylinders

Plant Wide-

• Line shaft assembly
• Other ATS rebuild items
• Other storeroom items to find
• Roof vents
• Zone-acc conveyor sub-assemblies

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to read general prints and follow job plans
