Job Profile

The company (Cepheid) is searching for a Mold Maker who will be responsible for repairing and maintaining plastic injection molds to meet the stringent requirements of our production team

Education Level

• High School Degree (or equivalent experience) with 6+ years of related work experience or AA or Technical Trade Degree with 5+ years of related work experience

Work Experience

• Proficient understanding of machining concepts and operation of Surface Grinders, CNC, EDM, WIRE EDM, Hot Runner system/Valve Gate System Experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering projects, manufacturing of spare components, and new tools.
• Build and maintain a ‘Kaizen’ mindset of continuous improvement utilizing DBS Tools to make frequent, incremental improvements to Tooling procedures
• Learn and develop skills in all necessary equipment to repair plastic injection molds.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing
• Laser Welding, Micro Welding, proficient with CMM’s, Solid works, Mastercam Programming
• Medical Manufacturing Experience
• Proficient understanding of the operation of plastic injection molds
