Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Mould Maker to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have Grade 12 Education or Equivalent
  • Certificate of qualification – Mould Maker
  • Valid Crane Operator license

Work Experience

  • Possess 5 years of related experience and or training in an automotive production environment

Desirable Qualifications

  • Ability to program and operate sink/wire EDM
  • Ability to work well independently without supervision
  • Basic understanding of the computer
  • Familiar with CAD Modeling (Mastercam, SolidWorks, ESPRIT. Inventor)
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment and programming
  • Support Mould trials
  • TIG welding experience
  • Tool and Die Maker Certificate of qualification
  • Valid forklift license

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in continuous improvements, dimensional quality concerns, and customer issues and supports department goals and objectives
  • Adheres to all Mytox safety rules and regulations
  • Assists in the tooling process as assigned while meeting the established customer requirements
  • Attends training based on Mytox Internal Training Matrix
  • Carry out daily pre-start Crane and Toolroom inspection sheet
  • Contributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge
  • Ensure clear communication of Midnight shift production-related issues is passed onto all shifts and outstanding work is prioritized to be continued
  • Inspects and troubleshoots new Moulds
  • Is familiar with Mytox’s policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized Toolroom/5S
  • Maintain good communication with Supervisor and Team Leaders by way of verbal discussions and Email.
  • Maintains documentation and preventive maintenance requirement of Moulds
  • Manages daily priorities for the attainment of customer satisfaction, while also meeting production schedule commitments to achieve business objectives
  • Modify, repair, and troubleshoot Moulds while working to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches, and samples
  • Operates Toolroom equipment effectively and safely
  • Perform duties to ensure that their department policies, procedures, and instructions are followed to satisfy requirements of the IATF 16949 quality management and ISO 14001
  • Performs assigned tasks within given timeframes and monitors/reports progress to the Mould Maker Team Leader or designate
  • Production coverage, Change Over’s, Manufacturing Spares, Preventative Maintenance, C.I.s, Predictive Maintenance
  • Support shift with completing open action items
  • Any other reasonable request by management

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • A good understanding of Hydraulic/Electrical and Cooling systems associated with Moulds
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to Machine components to tight tolerances and high surface finish
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Good English (both written and verbal) communication skills
  • Knowledge of Mould design, Function, Spot in lifters, and slides
  • Knowledge of WHMIS/GHS
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision on large compression Moulds, Direct injection Mould and Hot Runner systems, robotic end-of-arm tooling, etc.
  • Must be available to work midnight shifts and overtime when required
  • Must possess strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine root cause and recommend countermeasures
  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
