Job Profile

The company is looking for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician who will handle machine breakdowns, installation and startups, process improvements, preventative maintenance programs, and continuous machine improvements, increasing machine reliability and installation of facility capital investments.

The responsibilities include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, plumbing, equipment rebuilding, mechanical fabrication, reading electrical and mechanical prints, and setting up precision instrumentation.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a state-approved Journeyman Certification in Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Repairer, or equivalent multi-skilled Mechanical/Electrical program (college/university)

Work Experience

  • CNC mill, lathe, and grinder repair experience (a plus)
  • Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems
  • Electrical experience with systems from low voltage up to 480V 3 phase

Duties/Responsibilities

Electrical-

  • Bend conduit; install new wiring for sensors, valves, actuators, and other electrical devices used for machine and process control.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, rectifiers, instrumentation, wiring, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, electric apparatus, and components on industrial process machinery and equipment.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors and position sensing devices.
  • Troubleshoot machine controls utilizing PLC, servo, stepper, and basic relay logic controls.

Mechanical-

  • Aligns and adjust components on machines to improve or correct machine functionality and part quality.
  • Braze, weld, cut, solder and metalize as required to effect repairs
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems, and replace as needed.
  • Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Repair and maintain mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic components on production machines such as metal fabricating stamping machines, material handling systems, automated assembly machines, degreasing equipment, anodizing lines, and conveyor systems.
  • Repair/replace damaged air, chemical, water, and hydraulic pipes on the machine and measure, cut, thread, and install new pipes.
  • Sets up and operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder to make or repair parts.
  • Test all repairs and installations for correct functionality and proper performance. Record all work completed in the company asset tracking software, communicating issues, parts used, and need to restock components to Maintenance Supervisor.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to fabricate, including metal fitting, welding, and cutting
  • Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics
  • Ability to set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder to make or repair parts.
  • Instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting and programming skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills (a must)
