Job Profile

The company is searching for a Part Coating Fabricator who will be responsible for assembly, forming, finishing, material removal, inspection, rework, and repair of assembly components and parts, per customer specification, maintenance of machine tools, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, vacuum, and electrical systems on equipment throughout the company.

Includes, but is not limited to, operation of machines, hand and power tools, gages and measuring instruments, fabrication of temporary tooling, tooling maintenance, and first-level maintenance.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience working with hazardous materials or chemicals.
• GKN Experience
• Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting or safety, quality, and technical issues with co-workers, quality, and engineering functions

Duties/Responsibilities

• Apply coatings and paint to various metallic blades in accordance with the operation sheets
• Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company’s overall business objectives and goals, to include issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule, and people”
• Create test coupons for workflow
• Demonstrates understanding of the following standard operating procedures to acquire desired results on time while meeting all quality aspects
• Ensures the company’s commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of the Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
• Fully complies with the “GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government” in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government.
• Identifies and evaluates patterns. Before removal of material, determine the method to remove material to meet customer specifications
• Inspect the blade as per the specifications listed on the work instructions
• Knowledge of surface finishing processes, including blending and sanding parts (Experience working with Titanium parts as a plus)
• Knows how to use handheld air-powered tools such as grinders, sanders, and deburring tools
• Load and unload blades from furnaces and ovens as required for the curing process
• Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties in full compliance with company standards, customer, and government regulations
• Maintains records associated with periodic maintenance and orders spare/replacement parts as required
• Mix paint and other solutions for the coating process
• Responsible for filling out or stamping approval of process-related documentation
• Performs other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must be willing to work in a repetitive production environment with concern for meeting cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
• The ability to work as a team player as well as independently (required)

Work Environment

• Ability to carry and lift a weight up to 25lbs
• Bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling (required)
• Standing and walking for at least 7 hours/day
• Use of hands for fine dexterity, light and strong grasping (At least 7hrs/day)
