Job Profile

The company is seeking a Product Development Engineer who will be responsible for being the point contact for Vehicle Program progression and communication for the Nano Powerpack Team.

Powerpack system content includes components for Air Induction, Hot End Exhaust, Base Engine, and VO installed Powerpack releases.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from a college/university
  • B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (BSME)/ B.Sc. Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred

Work Experience

  • Component and System/Subsystem D&R Experience; Program Management Experience (a plus)
  • Experience with Ford internal PD systems (GPDS, FEDE, WERS, AIMS, SREA, Teamcenter, etc.) and MS Office applications

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead for AIMS and initial failure triage to identify the appropriate group for root cause resolution.
  • Lead new/forward model product development of Powerpack hardware in accordance with Ford GPDS deliverables and milestones for NA and global programs.
  • Primary Contact with VO Plants
  • Voice of Powerpack System to Vehicle Programs
  • Should be Connected to and Interface with-
    -Engine Plant (know constraints in order to assess VO requests)
    -Finance
    -Powertrain Planning
    -RIC
    -Transmission
    -Vehicle Calibration
    -Vehicle Cooling, TASE, Heat Management
    -Vehicle Packaging
  • Lead for Engine Systems on-
    -Build PAT
    -Critical Parameters
    -DPMT
    -Dyno Kit BOM
    -eDVPR
    -Engine Assembly -543- and Vehicle As-Installed -1271-
    -Global Integrator
    -Production and Prototype BOM
    -Service/Reman
    -TVM
    -Vehicle Attributes: NVH, FE, AIS, Exhaust, Emissions
    -Weight

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to prepare and present information to all levels of management
  • Ability to work effectively and lead in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of NVH, Materials, Durability, and Manufacturing (stamping, bending, welding, assembly) processes.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, with the ability to self-manage and generate/prioritize workload
  • Knowledge of FMEAs, Control Plans, and DV/PV Plans
  • Strong Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and background
