Job Profile

The company is searching for a QA/QC Manager who will exercise independent judgment; work under the Quality Director; direct supervisors and a group of employees in all production areas.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants may require a High School Diploma
• Have a current CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification or have previously held CWI certification
• Preferred Certifications: API 510, 570, 653, and AWS CWI

Work Experience

• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Class “A” Quality Control Inspector
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Control Supervisor
• Familiar with ASME and API Codes

Duties/Responsibilities

• Read and sign off on JSA
• Basic computer skills required
• Inspects work to ensure adherence to company standards
• Trains and assists workers in the performance of their duties
• Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned workers
• Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations
• Analyzes and resolves work-related problems
• Ensures job site materials and equipment are in good condition
• May maintain time, production, and other records
• May study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of the job and maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times

Qualification Standards

• Have the ability to conduct Pre-Fabrication Meetings and respond to questions from clients
• Have the ability to perform all required NDE (with the exception of UT)
• Have the ability to schedule work activities and coordinate with other departments
• Have the ability to write welding and operating procedures
• Have writing/reporting skills commiserate with the job title
• Hazard Communication orientation/test
• Job site “Personal Protective Equipment” requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt gloves, steel toe boots, etc)
• Job site orientation
• OSHA-approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
• Turner Industries Group Indoctrination

Physical Involvement

• Employee may be required to do the following climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, or overhead; carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction

Mental Involvement

• Follow set procedures and standards; apply basic mathematical skills; plan work and select proper tools; compare and understand differences in the size, shape, and form of pipe spools, figures, and objects; follow oral or written directions; read and write; ability to recognize and report safety hazards

Work Environment

• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways; work performed at low or high elevations; work performed in confined areas
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
