Job Profile
The company is looking to hire a Quality Control Inspector who will be responsible for the performance of all quality functions and duties related to the FCFR construction activities performed under the JV QA Program.
The position will report to the Project Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate secondary school education in Welding Technology, QA/QC, or a related discipline at the University or College level
Work Experience
- W178 Level 2 Visual Weld inspection (preferred)
- ASME Code, B&PV plus Nuclear/ISO 9001 and CWB experience
- Previous experience in receiving inspections and controls within a Nuclear Qualified Warehouse and Clean Room would be considered (an asset)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections.
- Dimensional inspections
- Hardness testing
- Participate in the development and maintenance of a cost of quality tracking system
- Participate in the preparation and execution of the Inspection and Test Plans.
- Perform internal weld monitoring as required.
- Perform quality inspection in accordance with the related codes and customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to:
- Positive material identification
- Review of Certified Material Test Reports as required
- Tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests
- Visual welding inspection
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Good communication and organizational skills
Physical Demands
- Travel as necessary
- Various work locations in both field and office
Fiscal Responsibility
- Fiscal responsibility as required
Extent of Public Contact
- Customers, suppliers
- Project Managers, project personnel, estimating personnel
- Trades personnel, union business agents
Other Qualifications
- Due to the nature of work conducted by Aecon, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment
- Our background check process includes a full security check and clearance process as well as reference checks. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education, and other pertinent information. Those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred
