Job Profile
The company is looking to hire a Quality Control Lead who will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the production Quality Assurance team as well as ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration with each other as well as other areas of the facility.
A primary responsibility of this role is to develop the team’s skills and engage them to meet goals.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, quality, or equivalent years of experience in a technical field, 10 + years
Work Experience
- Previous direct management experience of at least 5 people within the past 5 years
- Experienced with internal as well as external quality systems and procedures
Duties/Responsibilities
- Administrative duties related to direct-reporting responsibility for all QC technicians and inspectors
- Driving continuous improvement is expected
- Functioning as the single point of contact for and managing all quality control-related matters
- Identifying improvement themes and leading resolution action
- Managing delivery expectations related to the QC team (e.g. cost and schedule performance)
- Provide guidance to shop inspectors if needed
- Responsible for ongoing training of shop staff, planning, assigning, and directing work
- Support daily project work by a selection of personnel assignments
- Work with the production team to provide the needed support for the operation, understanding priorities
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Technical expertise in dimensional inspection, NDE, welding, machining, assembly, and testing
- Understanding of quality assurance methods and tools
