Job Profile
The company is hiring a Robotic Weld Technician to join its team for operating the Interim Products Robotic Welding Cell.
Candidates will be trained and qualified to use the six-axis robotic welding system to weld product assemblies.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
- Additional preference is given for EB Apprentice or Robotic system training
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of semi-automatic or mechanized GMAW experience
Duties/Responsibilities
Day-to-day functions-
- Basic Robot Programming/Data Collection
- Fitting
- Gouging/Cutting
- Rigging
- Robotic Welding
- Semi-Automatic Welding
- Tacking
- Visual Inspection
Candidates must be mechanically inclined and capable of interpreting robotic program software, EB’s work packages, drawings, ERs, and Procedures. Robotic Operators must be willing to work as part of the team between the Engineering, Automated Processing, Operations, Planning, Facilities, and Safety departments.
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of the NDT acceptance criteria for structural components
- In-depth knowledge of multi-bead, and mulit-layer GMA Welding
- Must be able to pass a destructive bend weld test, mechanized robotic (spray and pulse) and meet minimum visual acceptance requirements
- Must be available to work all shifts
- Skilled in the use of computers, specifically in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in computer programming or automation
- Experienced in lifting and handling
- Familiarity with Military and NAVSEA codes and specifications
- Knowledge of the EB operating practices of fabrication and manufacturing
- Mechanized welding experience, UT/RT welding experience
- Ship fitting/Shipbuilding experience
- Skilled in the use of computers, specifically in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
- Technical knowledge of Robotic System Operation
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Required to work in a collaborative and team environment, meet organizational goals, and follow all verbal and written instructions as directed
- Must possess basic mathematical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
- Climbing, crawling, kneeling, light lifting, medium lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, and twisting
Work Environment
