The company is hiring a Robotics Design Engineer II to join its team.
Education Level
- BS in Computer Science, Architecture, Computational Design, or relevant field
Work Experience
- 3+ years of experience developing tools for generating computational geometry
- Demonstrated experience in using scripting language to extend functionality of 3D software package (Python, C#, C++)
- Direct experience with Autodesk PowerMill or similar motion machine control software
- Experience programming motion for industrial robot arms
- Experience with 3D printing or WAAM process
- Experience with path optimization for robotic manipulators
- Experience with version control systems and collaborative development environments
- MS in either Computer Science, Architecture, Computational Design, or 5+ years equivalent experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Developing advanced methods for generating, evaluating, and ultimately printing complex novel geometries
- Developing custom software tools and algorithms for producing complex tool paths and valid multi-axis robot motion
- Working closely with simulation engineers and weld engineers to improve workflows between design CAD, distortion compensation, and printed metal results
- Contribute to occasional feasibility assessments to provide feedback and analysis on proposed new geometries from external partners or customers
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Experience with sensors, actuators, and integration
- Proficient in CAD and simulation software
- Skilled in programming (Python, C++, ROS)
- Strong knowledge of robotics kinematics and control
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities
Work Environment
- Exposed to radiation, heat, and confined spaces
- Must maintain high focus and precision
- Often works long or irregular hours
- Requires strict safety and PPE compliance
- Works in industrial and construction environments
