Job Profile

The company is seeking a Robotics Programmer/Technician who will be responsible for completing the setup and installation of robots from a single robot to multiple robot cells.

Promoting good communication within the robotic department as well as other departments to ensure a quality product is essential.

Ensure all equipment is in working order and will assist and train other robot techs as required.

Successful candidates will possess programming capability, as well as demonstrated experience with good troubleshooting and startup support.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • Hands-on experience programming robots Fanuc or Kuka (# of years determine level)
  • Experience in robotic spot welding, Mig welding, and material handling (required)
  • Practical experience and a good understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and solve robotic problems (troubleshoot)
  • Configure robot IO, weld interface, and program-call
  • Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner
  • Develop and control program structure as jobs progress
  • Fastening down of tooling and robots
  • Operate various tools and equipment including precision equipment (testers), megger, scope
  • Order materials for Robots
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy
  • Program robot paths, set up program structure, and implement offline programming
  • Provide robotic support and training as required
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Set up a structure for robot programs
  • Train and work with other programmers to enhance their skill level
  • Work closely with the Robotic Supervisor regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines
  • Work on Robot drawings and configurations
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to work as a team member and individually
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • Good understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC, and PLC functionality
  • Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the CSA Z434 and RIA robotic safety standards and how they apply
  • Must have own tools
  • Sound mechanical ability to work on robot dress packages and peripheral equipment
  • Superior mathematical and organizational skills

Working Conditions

  • Day/overnight or extended travel required to customers’ sites
  • Office and shop floor environment
  • Overtime hours will be required
