Job Profile
The company is looking to hire a Senior Production Welder who will set up and run low-volume production work.
Be responsible for welding a variety of component parts and assemblies.
Maintain production and quality standards under minimal supervision.
The position will report to the area Supervisor.
This role will be the resident expert for welding, at times working with engineering to answer questions.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
- Technical Degree/Certificate (preferred)
Work Experience
- Possess 3 to 5 years of welding experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Work with engineering to answer welding questions
- Use the following equipment, tools, welders, inspection tools, jigs, fixtures, pallet jacks, and hoists
- Complete the required information for the data collection of yields and efficiencies
- Order consumable parts using the order system
- Package parts as required
- Perform routine preventive maintenance of equipment
- Redline processes and procedures as required
- Stage welded parts and assemblies in a neat and orderly fashion
- Use a time clock as required to record time.
- Using Oracle software to complete WIP jobs
- Weld a variety of component parts and assemblies
- Work in a safe and clean manner using 5S principles
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis
Other Requirements
- Ability to MIG and TIG weld
- Ability to reach and maintain prescribed productivity levels for WIP jobs
- Ability to read and interpret welding drawings
- Ability to weld steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Check your own work for accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Occasionally make jigs and fixtures
- Weld as per shop instructions and drawings
- Welding of parts or components to make top-level assemblies
- Work from prints or other specifications, adjusting, fitting, and aligning to meet print tolerances
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and oral.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and periodically climb up and down ladders.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to disassemble small parts
- Frequently bending, kneeling, and reaching.
