Job Profile

The company is looking to hire a Senior Sheet Metal Technician who will be a key person in the metal shop with responsibilities that include managing internal production requests from drawing to shipment.

Educational Qualification

• No education level is mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
• Sheetmetal training (preferred)

Work Experience

• Possess 7+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with operating Trumpf sheet metal machinery to fabricate units with complex contours and multiple angles

Duties/Responsibilities

• Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
• Determine required methods and materials, and lead planning, fabrication, and assembly of various sheet metal products according to Engineering blueprints, drawings, verbal instructions, and even napkin sketches
• Develop specifications from a general description and draw a sketch of the part or product to be fabricated
• Generate, review, and analyze production performance in regard to availability, efficiency, and quality
• Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material
• Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including 6S, Kaizen Events, Team Building, and Training
• Manipulate flat patterns
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
• Provide feedback to site management to identify future requirements and support strategic decisions
• Responsible for managing inventory levels of material, consumables, and shop floor supplies
• Select gauges and types of sheet metal to use according to specifications that include brass, copper, aluminum, steel, stainless steel
• Performs other related duties, as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must have proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools, including precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, protractors, etc.)
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Cut off saws
• Grinders
• Routers
• Shears
• Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand or power tools
• Trumpf CNC Laser
• Trumpf CNC Press Brakes
• Trumpf CNC Punch Press
• V-Notcher

Work Environment

• Must be able to lift at least 50+ lbs.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Stand a minimum of 8 hours per day
