Job Profile
The company is seeking a Senior Welder who will be responsible for executing fabrication projects under welding procedures.
Education Level
- High School Diploma
- Welding School
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or a 6G test pipe
License/Certification
- Certification to weld on pipe or plate
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non-Destructive Exam
- May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials
- Must be able to operate basic cutting equipment
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, etc., with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
- Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches and automated equipment
- Promotes and supports safety, production, and a positive attitude
- Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework
- Requires rarely typing and using a computer and other office equipment, such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
- Requires the operation of heavy tools such as welding tools at a constant frequency and forklifts at an occasional frequency
- Uses metal core Mig, Tig, Fluxcore sub-arc, or Stick welding process (must pass three or more)

Work Environment
- Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
- Rarely drive
- Position rarely requires travel
- Occasionally inspecting equipment, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance without assistance.
- Sitting for at least 10% of the time
- Stand for at least 90% of the time
- Moving and maintaining oneself in different positions, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces
- Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions and an unairconditioned facility
- Requires work in a loud environment
