Job Profile

The company (IC Bus) is hiring an ST Welder to join our production team.

Note: The position is contractor converting to employee type

Educational Qualification

• No education level is mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

• Possess prior non-code welding experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of welding and grinding procedures on a variety of materials and parts using manual and semi-automatic machines.
• Performs assembly/disassembly and fasten/unfastening parts larger than hand using tools; fit, bolt, weld, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specifications.

Work Environment

• Ability to perform welding in hard-to-reach and awkward positions
• Ability to perform work while wearing specialized welding PPE
• Ability to walk/stand up to 10 hours per day
• Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment-related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
• May involve the operation of vehicles, operation of equipment, or involve work with power tools, or handling of hazardous materials, that could result in injury or damage to person/property/manufacturing process

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to correctly prepare weld areas and set related equipment
• Ability to weld areas of fitted components in a strategic pattern to minimize or avoid warping due to post welding
• Good mechanical aptitude
