Job Profile

The company is looking for a Structural Steel Inspector (CWI) who will ensure all phases of welding projects are performed in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.

Responsible for performing visual inspections of structural steel welded and bolted connections, and piping welded connections for various projects in North Texas.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

  • ASNT Level II (preferred)
  • ICC Certification (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Tasks vary according to job assignments and may include inspections of various structural elements in buildings such as anchor bolts, structural steel bolting, steel decking, etc.
  • Various steel-related inspections including, but not limited to mag-particle, ultrasonic radiation, weld inspections, bolt inspections, steel observations, fireproofing and caulking, and non-destructive testing of welds, etc.
  • Writing reports to coordinate with the construction material testing done in the field.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Driving to and from job sites to collect samples or perform tests and return them to the appropriate place at the Alpha Testing office.
