The company is looking for a Tank Welder to join its team.

Educational Qualification

• AWS Certified Weld Inspector or Associate Inspector (preferred)

Work Experience

• 1+ years of welding experience (required); (2 years preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Able to work on semi-routine assignments
• Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition
• Follow all company safety and quality requirements
• Maintains technical qualifications required for positions
• Mastered all aspects of level 1 position
• Prompt and dependable attendance
• Qualified in welding disciplines required for the facility
• Requires minimal help from supervisor on new tasks
• Shows initiative to recognize areas of opportunity within current standard procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric)
• Ability to work safely and accurately

• Able to do basic Layouts
• Able to final inspect welds
• Accurately measures specified tolerances
• Advanced knowledge of weld symbols
• Basic oxyfuel or carbon arcing
• Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization, and welding equipment set-up and maintenance
• Fits and welds subassemblies into final position with flat or horizontal welds
• Performs flat and horizontal welding
• The trait of being dependable and trustworthy
• Understand and follow oral and written directions
