Job Profile

The company is searching for a Technical Inside Sales Representative who will develop new prospects and interacts with existing customers primarily by phone to increase sales of an organization’s products or services.

Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to advise and support sales teams with pricing estimates and implementation guidance based on customer requirements.

Analyzes customer’s technical specifications, recommends the best product specification and configuration; can technically speak with the customer about needs.

Reviews sales proposals for accuracy, completeness, and quality.

Coordinates with field sales team members to ensure goals are met.

Provides support to customers over the phone and may conduct field visits as necessary.

Develops and delivers technical product presentations and materials used to engage customers and prospects and educate sales teams.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a BA or BS in a Technical or Business-related field from a college/university

Work Experience

  • Possess 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, and sales settings; cold-headed micro-components (fastener product) preferred
  • Experience selling to technical functions such as engineering or procurement

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Achieves an understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in order to produce company products.
  • Develops a core understanding of product lines; both stocked and manufactured, within the company and their related applications.
  • Develops the ability to manage new and existing customer accounts with the capability of uncovering and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Establishes relationships with the Customer Service team in order to comprehend typical customer-to-business communications and needs.
  • Gains necessary knowledge to properly source and estimate product costs in order to prepare customer quotes.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the products’ parts, functions, and processes and assist to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the client’s needs
  • Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers
  • Understands the Quality function as it relates to testing, product tolerances, documentation, certification, and ISO compliance where applicable.
  • Works to understand the design and engineering behind the products with capabilities of interpreting blueprints and product specifications.
  • Works with the Purchasing team to understand cost factors related to material and component purchases.

  • Self-starter, team player, highly customer-focused, ability to grow account base
  • Strong communication and decision-making ability required.
  • The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Willingness to travel 40% of the time
