Job Profile

The company is searching for a Tool and Die Maker who will repair/perform preventative maintenance on stamping dies and assembly tooling as needed while striving to improve the quality of workmanship.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Post High School Tooling/Machining Program (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all tooling equipment
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned workloads as directed by area leaders
  • Communicate with the tool room manager and tool room Area leaders, and other plant personnel about tool room concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained
  • Follow and support Montezuma Manufacturing’s and Magna’s operating principles
  • May be required to adjust shifts as necessary
  • Operate various tool room machining equipment and welding operations
  • Perform tooling repair using various methods of machining and handwork
  • Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey
  • Work in a safe, quality-minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve tool room deadlines and attain production priorities as scheduled
  • Work with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
  • Work with vendors and/or contractors, displaying company values of honesty and integrity

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriate
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, diagrams, requirements, and business correspondences
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer operations
  • Knowledge of safe and proficient use of lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws
  • Must be proficient in bench repair, assembly, machinery up-keep, layout, die repair, inspection, press troubleshooting, tooling design, quality control, die or fixture building, welding, and heat treating
  • Must exhibit high integrity and honesty
  • Must have good organizational skills
