Job Profile

The company is seeking a Tool Die Model/Plate Maker who will analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists’ hand tools.

  • Minimum 6 years of Tool and Die or equivalent

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Complete tool or engineering change requests to ensure proper documentation control.
  • Consult with production operators regarding first/last piece approval; execute reaction plan for defective parts as needed.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in your area.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of tools to the press.
  • Maintain accurate die history files and time spent for work performed.
  • Monitor inventory of key tooling components needed for assigned dies.
  • Participate in the tagging system, including red tags, to ensure tools are ready for production.
  • Sharpen/maintain/change-over/repair/PM dies as needed to support production.
  • To work in any other area of the plant at the request of your supervisor.
  • Work with production operators to troubleshoot dies as needed.
  • Work with the production supervisor to identify and correct issues with the tools, with repetition.
  • Working knowledge of stamping dies and machining equipment, including grinding, lathes, mills, EDM, and CNC experience, is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to focus and prioritize tasks and objectives.
  • Ability to lift/pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Basic reading/writing/math skills
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of multi-die (bolt making) and one-die two-blow machinery (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the use of measuring devices, blueprints, and drawings (preferred)
  • Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools and machinery

  • Exposed to noise, sharp tools, and metal debris
  • Follows safety rules and often wears protective gear
  • Handles heavy tools, dies, and metal plates
  • Requires precision, focus, and physical stamina
  • Works in industrial or manufacturing environments
