Job Profile
The company (Howmet Fastening Systems) is seeking a Tooling Specialist III to join its team.
Educational Qualification
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
Work Experience
- 5 years of experience in setting up the operation of all machine shop equipment including but not limited to Manual and CNC lathes, mills, EDM, grinders, etc. OR
- An equivalent previous experience with a fastener manufacturing company
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs precision operation and set-up on CNC Milling machines, Wire and Sinker EDM machines, and support
- Basic manual milling. without direction from supervision
- Able to resolve tooling manufacturing issues causing quality errors and slowdowns.
- Able to use complex fixtures for work holding on all machines.
- Must be able to teach and train others on numerous CNC and conventional machines.
- Able to complete the one-off job to exact tolerances without direct supervision.
- Program in Mastercam setup, operating CNC machines, wire, and sinker EDM to manufacture tooling for the aerospace industry.
- Operate conventional grinders, and set up the difficult surface and cylindrical fixtures on machines.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read, interpret documents, blueprints, micrometers, work from process drawings, sketches and perform SPC
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems of the most advanced level.
- Must possess a working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys.
- Knowledge of Mastercam programming, wire and sinker EDM, CNC lathe, and Mill
