Job Profile
The company is looking for a Tooling Technician (Assembly) who will maintain and troubleshoot assembly fixtures, performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all installed equipment to minimize downtime keeping safety as a priority.
Provide training and technical support to assembly and maintenance team members.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
- Post-secondary Education (preferred) or related experience
- Completed apprenticeship program in tool and die (preferred)
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure equipment meets NEC, OSHA, and Magna regulations.
- Ensure spare parts requirements and maintain correct inventory levels.
- Establish and maintain communication with team members and other departments.
- Maintain accurate documentation resulting in the shared knowledge of issues and lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Cognex camera and Perceptron.
- Maintain the assembly lines and other toolings to improve processes resulting in increased productivity and quality of parts.
- Minimize downtime by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts, and external contacts.
- Monitor and maintain good housekeeping.
- Monitor spare parts requirements to continuously improve the process.
- Perform PM inspections as required, complete with all repairs.
- Recommend modifications to the existing equipment.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
- Tig and Mig welding and hand working parts of the assembly line (heat treat of materials).
- Train and support assembly team members and lesser advanced Tool & Die, team members.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to use all tool room equipment and measuring tools
- Ability to weld and restore tooling to original condition
- Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Must be able to provide own tools
- Must be adaptable to change
- Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as needed
- Must have a good understanding of assembly line operations and functions
- Must have basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)

Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.
- Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
